Who will challenge Alabama?

After Alabama’s blowout of Tennessee, Nick Saban had this to say about his offense: “When we play really good teams, the runs aren’t going to be so easy.”

That quote begs this question: Who are these really good teams that are going to challenge Alabama?

The Tide has played four ranked opponents this season. In those games they’ve scored 52, 48, 49 and 49 points. Only the 48 against Ole Miss was the result of Alabama trying to score in the fourth quarter.

The Tide still has three more games against opponent that will or could be ranked. But are Texas A&M, LSU and Auburn likely to pose more of a challenge than USC, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Tennessee?

It could happen this week against a Texas A&M team that is undefeated and ranked No. 6 in the country. But the Tide opened as a 17-point favorite.

Saban is right that Alabama can get better. That’s the scary part.
