The Dallas Cowboys started the season 3-5 but have now won five in a row, in large part because of the midseason acquisition of Cooper.
Last week against the Eagles, the former Alabama star became the first player in NFL history to catch three go-ahead touchdown passes after the third quarter. His scoring receptions covered 28, 75 and 15 yards. The final score in overtime ended the game.
Cooper finished the game with 10 catches for 217 yards. In six games with the Cowboys he now has 40 catches for 642 yards and six touchdowns. Suddenly, with the fellow SEC West alum on his side, Dak Prescott looks like a different quarterback.
The Cowboys are headed to the NFC playoffs, where they may very well get a rematch with the New Orleans Saints. If so, the Saints will be favored to avenge their regular-season loss.
But with Cooper proving he’s one of the best receivers in the NFL, the Cowboys now look like a threat to any team in the NFL.
