Bradley Bozeman will line up at center for Alabama this season surrounded by 5-star recruits on the offensive line, at receiver and in the backfield.
But Bozeman, the one player who will touch the ball on every play, is living proof that there’s still a prominent place in Alabama’s dynasty for a self-proclaimed 3-star country boy from Roanoke, Alabama.
Yes, Bozeman’s journey is unusual at Alabama these days. After suffering a knee injury as a senior at Handley High, 25 offensive guards were rated higher than Bozeman, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
He redshirted, saw limited action for two more seasons then won a full-time starting job a season ago.
Now, he’s emerged to the point of being one of three players representing the Tide at SEC Media Days this week.
Bozeman is one of the few current Tide players who grew up a devoted Alabama fan.
That makes his unlikely journey to team leader even sweeter.
