The 2014 National Champions need to Tighten Up

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what constitutes a college football dynasty. But it’s easy to identify what disqualifies one.
That would be the recent performance of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In their last 10 games, the Buckeyes have been blown out by exactly 31 points not once but twice. They finished 2016 with a 31-0 humiliation against Clemson in the college football playoff. And last weekend they were pummeled by Iowa 55-24.
Also in that 10-game window is a 31-16 home loss to Oklahoma.
The Buckeyes and Urban Meyer clearly need to Tighten Up.
To put the two 31-point losses in perspective, Alabama hasn’t lost a game by that many points since the 1998 Music City Bowl against Virginia Tech. That’s the longest such streak in the country.
It’s been 5 years since Auburn lost a game that bad, with three of the final 5 games in 2012 resulting in blowing losses for the Tigers.
We will see how Ohio State responds. But at this point the Buckeyes need to Tighten Up simply to be considered a good program.
