The 2015 college football season is right around the corner and this is the time of the year all sorts of preseason rankings and evaluations are in the headlines. The SEC West has been one of the best divisions in all of college football, but with several new quarterbacks in 2015 how will this division look?
We are going to look at the seven teams in the SEC West and rank how we feel each respective team quarterback ranks amongst their peers within their SEC West division. True, it's really no way to know exactly what type of strides a quarterback has made from one season to a next or how a first year starter will perform, but we will give it our best shot.
The seven teams that make up the SEC West are as followed, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. It was the best division in college football last year, at least during the regular season.
Here is how we stack up the SEC West quarterback class of 2015.
1. Dak Prescott- Mississippi State Bulldogs
2. Jeremy Johnson- Auburn Tigers
3. Brandon Harris- LSU Tigers
4. Jake Coker- Alabama Crimson Tide
5. Kyle Allen- Texas A&M Aggies
6. Brandon Allen Arkansas Razorbacks
7. Chad Kelly- Ole Miss Rebels
So, there is how we stack up the 2015 class of SEC West quarterbacks. Amongst this group, there are 5 new starters that haven't played an entire season at quarterback. The only teams that return full season starters from 2014 are the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Brandon Allen.
It will certainly be an interesting season in 2015 after a very, very disappointing 2014 bowl season for what was thought to be the best division in all of college football.
The quarterback crop in 2015 has tons of potential, but the youth and inexperience may cause this division to take a step back from last year and make this division much more competitive than in previous years when LSU, Auburn and Alabama were the top dogs.
