South Alabama Wraps Up Win over Nicholls; Looks Ahead to Central Michigan

Monday afternoon during their weekly press conference, the South Alabama Jaguars wrapped up their season opening win against Nicholls State and began looking ahead to their next opponent Central Michigan.

Head Coach Kane Wommack – Excited to clean up things from the game the other day.  We want to create an offensive identity.  We want to win the double-positives and ball security.  We created explosive plays and we took care of the football.

Offensive Coordinator Major Applewhite – This is a good opponent. They are very firm upfront. They have good players in their front seven. They do a good job getting to the passer.  Active in the run game.  Their linebackers have some experience with some new guys in the back end.   They will be much better this week.  They’ll be ready to go against us.

QB Carter Bradley – It’s exciting.  Been there twice. Started there as a redshirt freshman.  I feel like it’s a great challenge for us.  Something I’m excited about.  Prepare like any other game.  We’re excited and we’ll be ready to go.

Defensive Coordinator Corey Batoon – Another very physical team. The back led the nation in rushing, I think they had 540 total offense on a good Oklahoma State team.  Very balanced.  The quarterback has improved.  Coach Petrino has done a great job, been there a short period of time and can see his fingerprints all over what they are doing.
