SEC media predictions announced Friday

MOBILE, AL (WNSP) —The official SEC preseason predictions were announced by the conference Friday after a long week of SEC media coverage in Hoover.

According to the SEC’s official website, the voting took place Thursday with media in attendance after the final day of SEC Media Days. Members of the media voted for an Eastern Division winner, a Western Division winner, and an SEC champion.

The Georgia Bulldogs were predicted to win the SEC Eastern Division with 1,572 points, and Alabama was picked to win the SEC Western Division with 1,683 points.

With 217 votes, the Crimson Tide is predicted to grab their fourth-straight SEC title. Even though Georgia was picked to be the Eastern Division champion, Auburn came in second behind Alabama for the most SEC Champion votes with 11 (Georgia had 6).

The votes were given to each team on a 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 scale.
