Putting Pigskin Pete in the ‘Spotlight’

pigskin“By day, Tim Taylor is a mild-mannered financial advisor,” the first line of the article reads. “On Friday nights in the fall,… he is Pigskin Pete.”

AL.com’s Ben Thomas wrote a feature article about Taylor, which you can read here, from his first encounter with radio to meeting his wife in college, to following his financial career to Mobile.

For 23 years, Taylor has hosted WNSP’s Friday Night Pregame Show, as well as the Postgame Scoreboard. The two shows bookend WNSP’s Live High School Football Broadcasts.

Taylor also hosts the weekly Wednesday Prep Spotlight show with Thomas and Randy Kennedy, WNSP’s programming director, and you can catch a replay of this week’s show here.

“The thing that makes Tim the best in the business is that in every segment of the Friday night show or our weekly Prep Spotlight, it’s clear he’s doing this for the right reason,” Kennedy said in the article. “Tim makes sure our high school coverage shines a positive light on the young people participating in high school sports. His passion for the game and for helping fans enjoy it are what drives our six hours of coverage every Friday night.”

This week, WNSP’s Gameday broadcast features Murphy at Baker, and as always, Pigskin Pete’s Pregame begins at 6 p.m., followed by the live broadcast of the game at 7, and the Postgame Scoreboard show until midnight.
