Tim Taylor (Pigskin Pete) started his coverage of High School football on WNSP in the fall of 1994.
The name “Pigskin Pete” came from a childhood favorite, a tribute to the late Pete Calabro (Pigskin Pete), a radio sports announcer in Alexander City in the 1970s.
Tim also covered high school football in LaGrange, Ga., on WTRP Radio from 1987-1990. He also worked at TV-33 in LaGrange from 1990-1993, where he served as play-by-play announcer during the LaGrange High Grangers’ 1991 season in which they finished 15-0 and were voted No. 1 nationally according to USA Today.
