Pearl would have to lose 50 more games like Sunday to be as bad as Barbee

Tony Barbee is the worst basketball coach in Auburn history.

You would think he wouldn’t want to call attention to the fact that he went 49-75 in his four years as a head coach. Or that nobody cared to support the program as long as he was in charge. Or that private parties broke out all over campus the day he was fired.

Yet, there was Barbee on Sunday somehow deciding it was his place to make fun of his former employers and a group of kids who were enduring an incredibly embarrassing 84-53 loss to Clemson that was actually worse than the 31-point difference might indicate.
Barbee took to Twitter during the blowout and posted a laughing emoji that everyone interpreted as him basking in Auburn’s struggles.

This Tighten Up isn’t for Barbee. To paraphrase the late, great NFL coach Dennis Green “He is who we thought he was.”

Kentucky and John Calipari need to Tighten Up. This is not how you let one of your high-profile employees act.
