Kentucky proves again why it’s the class of the SEC

There’s a big difference between being ready to play a game and having that special pregame resolve that this is the moment for which I’ve worked my whole life.

You saw that Saturday when Alabama played Kentucky In the SEC Tournament semifinals.

Kentucky played hard and wanted to win. But it wasn’t until the game was in doubt with five minutes to play that the Wildcats decided to kick into a higher gear.

It’s that way every single game for the Wildcats, just as it is for Alabama football.

That makes it all the more remarkable that Alabama has won 40 of 43 games over the last three seasons and Kentucky basketball is once again king of the SEC.

Of course, in both cases recruiting and superior talent is where it all starts.

But it’s not just that. Let’s recognize what it takes to receive the opposing team’s best shot game after game and still manage to show repeatedly who sets the standard for excellence in the SEC.
