Mobile County's football media days

Mobile County's High School Media Day kicked off on Monday for the two-day event at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. From the schools that attended, here are excerpts from four of the teams that attended the event.

Baker

Baker went  9-2 last season.  The Hornets lost to Prattville in overtime in the first round of the playoffs. Head coach Danny Smith [audio m4a="http://wnsp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Baker-HC.m4a"][/audio] Senior Holden Verdin was a starting wide receiver for the Hornets last year before moving to quarterback this year. [audio m4a="http://wnsp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Baker-QB.m4a"][/audio] CB Bobby Flatt went from flag football to a D1 offer from South Alabama after one year on the field. St. Paul's

St. Paul's went 15-0 last season and won the 5A title in 2014. Head coach Steve Mask [audio m4a="http://wnsp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/St.-Pauls-HC.m4a"][/audio] Four-star DL/OL Darius Whitfield is expected to announce his college decision Oct. 13. His top options include LSU, Miami, South Carolina and Florida. [audio m4a="http://wnsp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/St.-Pauls-OL-DL-Darius-Whitfield.m4a"][/audio] Duel-threat quarterback Miller Mosley will lead the Saints as a senior. McGill-Toolen

Saraland

The Spartans finished 13-2 making it to the 6A championship. Saraland fell to Clay Chalkville. Head coach Jeff Kelley [audio m4a="http://wnsp.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Saraland-HC-Jeff-Kelley.m4a"][/audio] Sophomore quarterback Jack West. West has already received multiple offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and more.
