A true freshmen is the man to tighten up the Florida offense

Through some pretty-hard-to-watch struggles of several quarterbacks around the SEC there has been only one changing at the top of the depth chart not due to injury.
And that player who has ascended to lead his team at the most important position is … Luke Del Rio.
Come on Jim McElwain, the Gators, particularly the Florida offense, need to tighten up.
Del Rio was inserted into the game in the third quarter at Kentucky. He proceeded to throw an interception on his first pass. He went on to complete 9-of-14 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown.
But those average numbers are the ceiling for Del Rio, whose college career has taken him from Alabama to Oregon State to Florida.
The real answer? Kadarius Toney.
The true freshman from Blount threw the first pass of his college career Saturday night. It went for 50 yards on a reverse pass.
He also lined at quarterback for the first time. He ran for a 36-yard touchdown on the play.
Both Georgia and Texas A&M are starting true freshmen quarterbacks who would be a much better option than Luke Del Rio. I could say the same for Kadarius Toney.
The Florida offense obviously needs to tighten up. But first they need the right player with the wrench in his hand.
Let us know your nomination for who needs to tighten up. The best call will receive two tickets to this weekend’s Alabama-Ole Miss game.
