Tracy Turner co-hosts “Talkin’ Football” with Scott Hunter every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
Tracy graduated from Washington County High School where he was a four year starter playing offense, defense and special teams. As a senior, he was the leading tackler on his team and was a member of the first recruiting class for Coach Pat Dye at Auburn in 1981.
In the spring before his sophomore year at Auburn, Tracy became the starter at right guard earning the award for “Most Improved Offensive Lineman.” He went on to start 9 games at offensive guard in 1982 and earned the first of three Academic All-SEC awards. He was a member of the well-celebrated 1983 SEC Championship team when Auburn went 11 and 1 and defeated Michigan 9-7 in the 1984 Sugar Bowl. As a senior, Tracy was awarded the “Bill Streit” Award for the graduating senior with the highest GPA and graduated in 1985 with two degrees, a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Education before earning his J.D. in 1989 from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Tracy is currently a partner with the law firm of Johnstone, Adams, Bailey, Gordon & Harris, LLC, in Mobile, specializing in Litigation and Labor & Employment law. He also serves as a member of the board of advisors for the Mobile Chamber of Commerce and is a member and past president of the Paul W. Brock Mobile Inns of Court. He continues to maintain his lifelong ties with high school football through his continued involvement with the Alabama-Mississippi All Star Classic game, where he served as a member of the Coaches Club, Fifth Quarter Club, and, in 2005, was named the Honorary Team Captain for the Alabama Team.
Tracy still resides in his hometown, Chatom, Alabama, with his wife Bonnie. Together, they have five children, Sully (17), Chapman (14), Sage (13), Briggs (11) and Baxter (7).
“Talkin’ Football” is the longest running sports show in Mobile. Tracy was added to the show and is now in his (5th or 6th – you’ll have to ask TPT) season with Scott. Scott and Tracy both pride themselves on keeping things “Between the Lines!”
