Alabama commit Derrick Henry continues to make headlines, without even picking up a football in practice.
He was one of the nine early-enrollees for the Tide, and is set to be make an instant impact next season.
AL.com’s Matt Scalici reports that Henry has been named the Parade Magazine Player of the Year, after breaking the national high school rushing records with 12, 243 yards and 153 touchdowns. CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL STORY
There has been much debate on whether Henry will play running back or linebacker for the Tide, but Coach Saban promised him that he would have a fair shot at playing his natural position first.
Henry should take over Eddie Lacy’s role, spelling TJ Yeldon next season.
