Week 9 Recap (Oct 26th)
It had been over two decades since the Baker Hornets found its way into the playoffs, but last Friday night, all that ended as they locked up 3rd place in Region 6A/1. The last time Baker made the playoffs was back in 1990. Also, what a huge night from Fairhope’s Nate Andrews as he scored 7 touchdowns as the Pirates knocked off Northview 58-23 and finish tied for 2nd in Region 6A/2. The Pirates will get the 3rd seed as they lost in a tie breaker for second.
Week 10 Big Games (Nov 2)
The Final games of the regular season will take place this Friday night. It is an emotional night for many area seniors as this will be the final game for many of them that do not move on to post season. WNSP will broadcast a huge rival match-up as UMS-Wright visits St Paul’s. Game time will be at 6:50pm with Lee Shervainian and Howard McCain with this call. (Special thanksgiving this week to head coach Glenn Vickery of the Daphne Trojans who underwent successful surgery this week out of town. We all pray for a quick recovery so he can return to the sidelines quickly).
