Derrick Henry, a 5-star prospect, has committed to Alabama over Tennessee.

The 6 foot 3, 243 pound running back compares himself to the likes of Eric Dickerson, Eddie George, and Marcus Dupree.

Henry received multiple offers, including Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and USC among others.

He originally committed to Georgia his Sophomore summer, but chose to de-commit this June.

Henry is listed as a running back/athlete, but told recruiters that he intends on playing running back in college.

There were thoughts of moving him to the defensive side of the ball, but Coach Saban stated that Henry will get a shot to play running back at Alabama.

Henry plans on enrolling at Alabama early and is ready for the challenge of competing in the backfield.

The Tide have now received verbal commitments from two of the top high school players from Florida, in defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker and now running back Derrick Henry.
