Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten is playing in tonight’s game against the Giants.

Dallas did not want to allow Witten to sign a medical waiver in order to play in tonight’s opener against the Giants.

The medical staff has cleared Witten to play in Week 2, but tonight is too rushed in their mind.

Witten is recovering from a spleen injury that he suffered early in Pre-Season. Owner Jerry Jones has continued to tell the media that he did not want to risk seeing his star tight end re-injure himself.

Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks is reportedly set to play in tonight’s game, despite recovering from a foot injury throughout the pre-season.
