What better way to kick off the weekend than a commitment from one of the top recruits in the nation?

DeMarcus Walker was highly coveted, ranking as the number three overall defensive end.

The 6-foot-4, 276 pound, 5-Star recruit will play Jack-Lineback with the Crimson Tide, able to play both defensive end and linebacker positions.

ESPN reports that despite the belief that Walker’s decision came down to Alabama and his home state team of Florida, it was actually Auburn that came in second during his decision process.

It was an easy choice for Walker after considering Alabama’s recent success.

“They are just putting guys in the NFL, and that’s my dream.”

“With the way they develop players, I feel like the work that I put in there will pay off.”

It’s one thing to win a recruit away from Florida, but the fact that it was also over Auburn makes it just a little sweeter.
