AUBURN, Alabama — Defensive lineman Leonard Williams will sign with Southern California, he announced today.Williams, a 6-foot-5, 254-pound prospect from Mainland High in Daytona Beach, Fla., was also considering Auburn and Florida. Williams had 103 tackles, including 19 for a loss, and 10.5 sacks in 2011.Williams was the last of 22 Mainland student-athletes to announce his decision. He did so with a heavy heart, as his grandmother is in a coma and faces an uncertain prognosis, the Orlando Sentinel reported.An ESPN scouting report described him this way: “Williams is a strong, but raw brute from his end position with a terrific blend of size, strength and athleticism, but he could end up as a defensive tackle at the next level.”
