TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Alabama picked up its fourth verbal commitment for its 2013 signing class Wednesday night from Miami Northwestern cornerback Artie Burns.
Burns (6-0, 175 pounds) is a teammate of Amari Cooper, who committed to Alabama in September.
A source confirmed Burns’ commitment. He could not be immediately reached for comment.
Also commited for 2013 are linebacker Reuben Foster, tight end O.J. Howard and offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman.
Burns is the eighth Alabama commitment from the Sunshine State dating back to 2011 signing class , which netted running back Dee Hart (Orlando Dr. Phillips), safety Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix (Orlando Dr. Phillips), quarterback Phillip Ely (Tampa Plant) and defensive lineman D.J. Pettway (Pensacola Catholic).
The 2012 class has commitments from athlete Eddie Williams (Panama City Arnold) and wide receiver Chris Black (Jacksonville First Coast).
