Baton Rouge – An eyewitness says she saw LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson kick a person in the face, according to a police report released Thursday.
Victoria Long, 19, says she saw Jefferson kick one of the alleged victims during a bar fight Friday.
Baton Rouge Police investigators also confiscated 49-50 pairs of shoes from Jefferson’s apartment Wednesday in a search for evidence pertaining to a fight involving Jefferson and three other players, a source close to the investigation said.
In addition to blood samples, police are trying to match a footprint on the shirt of one of the four alleged victims in the fight that occurred Friday at Shady’s, an off campus bar, the source said.
Investigators also took DNA evidence and other items from Jefferson apartment.
BRPD Sgt. Don Stone said the investigation is continuing, and no charges or arrests have been made. He said police had “probable cause” to search Jefferson’s apartment, but have no plans to search other players’ homes.
“We have gathered enough probable cause to search for information to help either prove or disprove the allegations against him,” Stone said.
Police obtained warrants for the search and to take a DNA swab from Jefferson.
Jefferson, a senior quarterback, and offensive tackle Chris Davenport, linebacker Josh Johns and wide receiver Jarvis Landry are accused of being involved in a fight Friday at Shady’s, an off-campus bar south of the LSU campus. Four people were injured in the fracas. One has been identified as Andrew Lowery of Baton Rouge.
