TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Gunner Kiel told several websites Wednesday he would commit to Indiana, according to 247Sports.
The highly-touted quarterback prospect for the 2012 signing, who was pursued by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC.
Kiel, from Columbus (Ind.) East, told reporters at the Elite 11 less than two weeks ago he would commit prior to his senior season.
It was just the best fit for me,” Kiel told 247Sports. “I woke up having that gut feeling and felt really good about it and my parents were excited about it too.
“I’m really excited I’m committing to Indiana and I’m ready to get things started, and I’m really glad that it’s over so I can enjoy my senior year and know that I’m going to go somewhere.”
Kiel was considered by many to be the top quarterback prospect in the country. He threw for roughly 2,700 yards and 36 touchdowns.
