Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton will enter the NFL combine this week with a fat endorsement contract in his back pocket.Under Armour announced Wednesday it had signed Newton to the richest endorsement deal ever given to an NFL rookie. CNBC reported last week that the deal is worth more than a $1 million.Under Armour says it will feature Newton, the Heisman Trophy winner, in national advertising and in-store displays this year. A signature Cam Newton shoe line will be part of the promotion.Newton won’t waste any time promoting Under Armour. He’ll wear the company’s gear at the combine. One of the items will be the Under Armour E39, a shirt fitted with electronic touchpoints that track biometric signals.Newton knows all about Under Armour. He wore as many as 17 Under Armour logos while playing for Auburn last season. Under Armour also has Tom Brady, Miles Austin and Anquan Boldin promoting its product.
