C.J. Uzomah, a quarterback at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, but perhaps a tight end in college, said he’d sign with the Tigers in February.
His position is listed as “athlete” in recruiting circles.
Inside the Auburn Tigers and AuburnSports.com and AuburnUndercover.com reported the commitment. They’ll have some quotes.
Uzomah’s size — 6-foot-5, 230 — gives him flexibility on college recruiting charts. He had offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt from the SEC, as well as Clemson and Miami, among others. That’s according to Rivals.
Uzomah passed for 1,750 yards passing and 15 touchdowns, and ran for 800 yards and 10 more TDs last season.
He’s Auburn’s 13th commitment for the 2011 signing class.
