Kentucky coach John Calipari declined today to respond to recent accusations about Eric Bledsoe’s past in Birmingham, including his academic improvement and residency.
“I have no response to that,” Calipari said. “We’ve already made our statement.”
On Saturday, Kentucky issued a statement saying Bledsoe passed an extensive review process by the NCAA Eligibility Center before joining the Wildcats.
“Often high profile student-athletes are selected for an extensive prospective student-athlete (PSA) review,” Kentucky said in its statement. “Eric Bledsoe participated in the normal academic review process and also an extensive PSA review by the NCAA Eligibility Center and was cleared academically.”
Asked if he stands behind how he evaluates transcripts, Calipari responded: “What? What kind of question do you ask me? I already told you the school commented on that.”
