Peyton Manning plans to return to football, but he and Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay have not discussed his future, he said in an interview with ESPN on Tuesday.

 

Manning, in an interview with ESPN’s Trey Wingo, said that he and Irsay will discuss whether the Super Bowl-winning quarterback will remain with the Colts “at the appropriate time, and when we do, I think some decisions will be made after that. But until then I’m just continuing to rehab, work hard, and to enjoy this week because it really is a special week for the city and certainly for my family.”

Manning said that his recovery from spinal fusion surgery in September — his third surgery in 19 months — is going well despite the fact he didn’t play last season.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Alabama announced Tuesday it will host its annual A-Day spring football game on April 14, and homecoming Oct. 27 against Mississippi State.

Admission for A-Day is free. No kickoff time was announced, and more details regarding the annual culmination of spring football practice will come at a later date.
Last year’s A-Day was headlined by the unveiling of the Nick Saban statue along the Walk of Champions outside of the north end zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The game featured the first look at the quarterback battle between AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims, a game Crimson won 14-10 over White.
Alabama’s homecoming is set against the Bulldogs for Oct. 27 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide’s homecooming game will be the only home game in October. Alabama begins the month with an open date followed by away games at Missouri and at Tennesse for the Third Saturday in October.

Alabama hosted Vanderbilt for homecoming last season, a game the Tide won 34-0.

AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn is hoping defensive back Jordan Moore of Lithonia, Ga., chooses the Tigers tonight, but a couple of new teams have popped up that may be clouding the recruiting picture.Florida and Southern California are late entries for Moore’s services.He is scheduled to announce the wining school on Fox Sports South tonight after the Atlanta-Toronto NBA game. Signing day is Wednesday.Moore’s football stock has zoomed in the last month. He was a wide receiver who was committed to LSU to run track. But he played defensive back his last three games at Martin Luther King High, and colleges noticed.He wants to play football and run track in college. His two finalists — at least through yesterday — were Auburn and TCU.
