     Vigor 4-star Defensive End Justin Thornton is the latest star recruit from the Mobile-area to commit to Auburn.

     Thornton made the decision, early Mother’s Day morning at his church, which was originally reported to come down between LSU or Auburn.

     Texas A&M was rumored to have an outside chance, because Thornton’s father lives near the Dallas area, but that was never a major factor.

     He named LSU his leading favorite this past month, but the latest trend of commits from his peers only made this decision easier.

     Thornton joins fellow Vigor star Deshaun Davis and St. Paul’s Tre’ Williams and Josh Casher as the major recruits to commit to the Tigers this offseason.

     Just when you thought that the major news for the 2014 Auburn class was with St. Paul’s Tre’ Williams, the Tigers make another splash on the recruiting trail.

     AL.com’s Mike Herndon reports that former Prattville defensive back Derrick Moncrief has committed to Auburn. CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL STORY

     He is curently rated as a 4-star Safety for MGCCC and the no.1 JUCO defensive back in the Nation.

     Moncrief chose Auburn over Kentucky and Oklahoma State.

One of the most anticipated announcements in the 2014 recruiting class has finally arrived.

St. Paul’s 4-star linebacker Tre’ Williams has chosen to commit to Auburn over Alabama and USC.

It was originally believed that Williams would wait until the 2013 regular season to make his announcement, but like his teammate/fellow Auburn-commit Josh Casher, he wanted to get the pressure of deciding out of the way.

Williams credited both Alabama and USC as great programs, but said that Auburn was the best option for him.

Some would suggest that the decision came down to either Alabama or Auburn, but USC was just as much in the mix.

Former Mobile-star/Auburn assistant coach Dameyune Craig should be credited with being able to land one of the nation’s top linebacker recruits for the 2014 class, which marks the second 4-star linebacker from the Mobile-area to commit to Auburn this offseason.

Auburn now has three 4-star commits from the Mobile-area this offseason in Vigor Linebacker Deshaun Davis, St. Paul’s Offensive Lineman Josh Casher, and now Williams.
