Bailey meeting with Saints a second time

After the Saints unloaded a majority of their defensive veterans, in a youth movement this offseason, they are looking to add one that’s older than any of them.

Thirty-five-year-old free agent defensive back Champ Bailey is in New Orleans for the second day in a row, meeting with the Saints.

New Orleans parted way with defensive backs Jabari Greer and Roman Harper, but make a significant signing of former Bills Safety Jarius Byrd.

Their current backfield would consist of Byrd and last year’s rookie sensation Kenny Vacaro, along with former first round pick Patrick Robinson, and Michael Lewis.

Bailey could come in and play a reduce role, possibly as a nickel back or number two corner.

Negotiations are not officially in the works, but it’s definitely getting closer with today’s second scheduled meeting.

Saban supports player compensation

While the newly-formed Northwestern Union heads to Congress, Alabama’s Nick Saban is letting his voice be heard on the recent developments.

He told reporters that he has been a long-time supporter of compensation for student athletes.

Saban would go on to reiterate about how much the University invests in its players from a career and personal development standpoint.
